PAN card photo and signature size

Online PAN applications ask for a 200 DPI colour JPG photo (3.5 × 2.5 cm, under 20 KB) and signature (2 × 4.5 cm, under 10 KB).

    Size requirements

    These are the sizes in Protean’s (NSDL) online PAN instructions. UTIITSL and e-KYC routes may differ — check the form you are filling.

    How to use it

    1. Pick photo or signature.
    2. Choose the image.
    3. Press Resize and download the 200 DPI JPG.

    Why 200 DPI matters

    The PAN portal reads the resolution stored in the image. This tool saves the image at 200 DPI with the exact pixel size, so the printed size works out to 3.5 × 2.5 cm for the photo and 2 × 4.5 cm for the signature.

    Photo is blurry after resizing

    20 KB is small, so start with a sharp, well-lit photo cropped to your face and shoulders.
