B.Tech project report format: what goes where
Every university has its own small rules, but most B.Tech, M.Tech and MBA project reports follow the same structure. Use this as a checklist, then confirm details like margins with your department.

Fonts and spacing most colleges use
Body text in Times New Roman 12 pt with 1.5 line spacing; chapter headings 16 pt bold and section headings 14 pt bold; a wider left margin (about 1.5 inches) for binding and about 1 inch on the other sides. Your department’s template always wins.
Page numbers
Front pages are numbered in small roman numerals (i, ii, iii) — the title page counts as i but the number isn’t printed — and the chapters start again at 1. In Word this needs section breaks, which often break when several people edit the file. Keeping each chapter as a separate file and joining them at the end avoids that.
Step by step
- Make the title page, certificate, declaration and acknowledgement with the front pages maker.
- Write each chapter as its own Word file, named “01 Chapter 1 Introduction.docx” and so on.
- Open the report assembler and upload the front pages and chapters in order.
- Download one PDF with i, ii, iii and 1, 2, 3, a contents page and bookmarks.
- Print, get the certificate signed, and bind.
Questions
Do JNTU, VTU and Anna University use the same certificate?
The wording differs: Anna University uses a “Bonafide Certificate”, VTU adds the principal and an external viva table. Pick your university in the maker.
Will the tool write my report?
No — it lays out the standard pages and numbering. The report is your own work.
