How to remove a password from a PDF
Bank statements, e-Aadhaar and salary slips arrive locked. Upload portals, printers and loan apps often can’t open them. If you know the password, you can save an unlocked copy in a few seconds.
Remove the password Free, no sign-up. Files deleted after 24 hours.
Find the password
- e-Aadhaar: first 4 letters of your name in CAPITALS + year of birth (e.g. RAVI1995).
- Bank statements: usually a mix of your name and date of birth, or your customer ID — the bank’s email says which.
- Salary slips and Form 16: often your PAN in capitals or your employee ID with date of birth.
Two kinds of PDF password
An “open” password stops the file from opening. An “owner” password lets it open but blocks printing or copying. If your PDF opens fine but won’t print, leave the password box empty — the tool removes those restrictions.
Step by step
- Open Remove PDF password.
- Choose the locked PDF.
- Type its password.
- Download the unlocked copy and keep it private.
